Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables
Just Say Yes (JSY) is one of New York State’s premier nutrition education programs for low-income families. On Long Island, the JSY program is a service of Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank. This unique educational service is designed to prevent obesity and reduce long-term chronic disease risks through the promotion of increased fruit and vegetable consumption. Using nutrition education workshops, materials and specialized food demonstrations, JSY works to ensure that low-income families on Long Island:
Eat more nutritious foods.
Make the most of their food budget.
Prepare food in a safe manner.
JSY staff regularly visit the Sag Harbor Food Pantry and provide custom-tailored nutrition education and cooking demonstrations, such as:
